Not so Extreme Couponing

I am sure by now that if you are reading this then you have already seen the show "Extreme Couponing" that airs on TLC on Wednesday nights.  I think it is ironic that the show airs right before "Hoarding: Buried Alive."

I have some pretty strong views on the show and I will address one of them today.  Most of the people featured on this show are just organized hoarders.  It is disgusting to see how selfish they are on the show.

Who needs 535 deodorants?  I don't care how much your husband smells- he will NEVER use that many deodorants in his lifetime.  Even if you believe in reincarnation- he will still not use them all in his next life either!

Have any of those hoarders thought of helping another person?  They could make such an impact in their community if they gave away some of their hoard!

I will not dwell on this forever but I will say that it inspired me to be even more diligent in my quest to "Coupon for a Cause."  I have comitted to spending $5 a week on items to donate.  With my couponing skills I can make that $5 go a long way.

Here is some of what I was able to donate to the food bin at my church this week...

7 bags of frozen veggies

2 Frank's Red Hot bottles

4 French's mustard

8 cans Carnation Evaporated milk

3 cake mixes

1 brownie mix

The women featured on the TLC show would have hoarded these items in their extreme stockpiles.   The one woman even said she loves her stockpile almost as much as her family.  She is missing out on the joy she could receive from helping others!
